Caduceus Panache

Wyoming Flyhawk x MJVM Serena, 1995

15.3 hh - homozygous black
Last stallion out of Wyoming Flyhawk

Horses At Stud

Panache is the last stallion son of Dr. Lowell Hughes’ great Wyoming Flywawk. Panache exhibits, and passes on all the qualities that Dr. Hughes defined as the goals of his 30 year breeding program: easy-going temperament, strong, correct conformation, breed type and powerful ground covering movement required for sport disciplines.

In his debut dressage season, Panache consistently scored in the 60’s at 1st level. After two seasons of successful private breeding, we are offering Panache to outside mares. Panache is tested homozygous black. All of his offspring are bay or black, and all are on growth curves to easily mature to 16 hands.

Breeding fee: $850. LFG, on site or shipped semen.

Wyoming Flyhawk 24795 ( 22 May 73) was a well-known, 16-hand homozygous black producer of Morgan Sport Horses in Iowa for the late Lowell Hughes of Caduceus Morgans. Wyoming Flyhawk combined the golden cross of Flyhawk x Sentola (a full sister to Jubilee King, see below) through his grandsires, Stetson and Warhawk.

He is considered one of the most important Morgan Sport Horse sires of all time siring 132 offspring between 1976 to 1996.

Wyoming Flyhawk was prepotent for size and athleticism many generations removed.  His get were primarily black (85) and bay (32) with some brown (12) and 2 buckskin. Double V Ranch's Caduceus Panache was his final stallion progeny.

At Stud Foals Flyhawk 7526

(August 1926) was foaled in the east pasture of Cotton Hill Morgan 4 Stock Farm, owned by J.C. Brunk. From the beginning he was recognized as having something special about him. He was compact and smooth with ample breed characteristic. He had personality plus, alert, bright prominent eyes and a happy disposition which he kept all of his 32 years.

Flyhawk was the sire of 103 progeny: 35 stallions, 57 mares, and 11 geldings. There were 27 chestnuts, 30 bays, 16 browns, and 24 blacks. His descendants often have the big, true, open trot that has become synonymous with Flyhawk. They are known to come with sound feet and typy bodies, competitive drive and and a sense of humor and fun that Flyhawk himself had. The Ranch's Rimlee Koloper has two crosses to Flyhawk.

Sentola 04555  Sentola was a full sister to Jubilee King and by Flyhawk she produced, in addition to Jubilee Joy, Warhawk, 1942 black colt, Stetson 1944 chestnut colt, Sentana 1945 chestnut filly, and Top Flight 1948 black colt.

Jubilee Joy was the first of the Flyhawk and Sentola foals. She was born in 1941 and spent her entire lifetime at Highview Farms and with the Greenwalt family. A beautiful head and eye were among Jubilee Joy's many attributes. She was never beaten in Mare and Foal classes. Top Flight out of Sentola was, like his sire Flyhawk, a black stallion. He sired 60 Morgans breeding for the estate of Helen B. Greenwalt.

Stetson was Sentola's 1944 foal by Flyhawk. He sired 88 Morgans in Utah and Wyoming during his active breeding years and lived to age 28. He was a grandsire of Wyoming Flyhawk.
